Job Description:SHO in Haematology/Oncology
HCL International recruits an Haematology/Oncology SHO fulltime permanent post on behalf of a well known NHS Trust based in Essex.
The appointee will participate in a full shift pattern of working with 1:6 on call commitment and function as an SHO equivalent.
Main Responsibilities:- treatment of haematology and oncology emergencies such as neutropenic sepsis and also non malignant haematology emergencies such as treatment of sickle cell disorders.
- to look after patients on the day ward and also attend outpatients. There is close supervision at all times by the Registrars and Consultants are always available, with ward rounds taking place twice a week.
- The work is varied and interesting and all aspects of haematology and medical oncology are dealt with giving the appointee wide exposure to all aspects of these disorders.
The appointment will be offered for a period of 3 months in the first instance. Subject to satisfactory appraisal and performance, the appointment may be extended every six months to a maximum of two years.
Requirements:- M.B.B.S or equivalent
- GMC Full registration or to be in the process of obtaining it
- Ability to communicate clearly and work within a team
- SHO experience for 2 years in UK or abroad
- Enthusiasm and drive for acquiring experience and knowledge
