Guy's and St Thomas' is one of the largest hospital trusts in the country, with a staff of over 9,500, a turnover of over £800m and a million patient contacts a year.

The Trust is made up of two of London's oldest and most well known teaching hospitals. The hospitals have a long history, dating back almost 900 years, and have been at the forefront of medical progress and innovation since they were founded. Both hospitals have built on these traditions and continue to have a reputation for excellence and innovation.

PICU (Forest) is a 20 bedded PICU within the Evelina Children's Hospital. We serve the needs of children of the local population and others in the south east of England. We offer a well established, dynamic multi-professional team with a wealth of experience. Research, evidenced based practice, clinical governance and staff development are actively promoted.

The South Thames Retrieval Service is based within the unit and provides an opportunity for staff to develop critical care transport skills including the new Retrieval Nurse Practitioner role. We are the first PICU in the United Kingdom to develop the role of the Retrieval Nurse Practitioner leading in the safe stabilisation and transfer of the critically ill child from a referring hospital to PICU.

We are a lead centre, and provide care for critically ill children referred from a wide variety of specialist areas including renal, cardiac, general medicine and surgery, metabolic and neurology.

We are currently seeking highly motivated, experienced paediatric nurses (with a relevant post registration course) who enjoy working in an energetic, challenging and at times demanding environment. We are committed to building on your existing skills and knowledge and welcome the opportunity to learn from you. Why not come and join us in our exciting, new unit designed with the needs of our patients and staff in mind and help us to lead the way in providing high quality care to our children?

Guy's and St Thomas' is committed to fair pay for all its staff. Benefits include: Final Salary Pension Scheme, Swimming Pool and Fitness Centres, Knowledge & Information Centre, Social Clubs, On-site Nursery (limited places) and access to a Childcare Co-ordinator. The Trust aims to help staff balance work and home life.

Applications are welcomed from applicants with a disability. We can make reasonable adjustments and offer support and advice in a variety of ways throughout the application process. Equality of opportunity is our policy.
