The Emergency Department at a large NHS Trust Hospital in central England is looking for the Senior Fellow in Emergency Medicine. This department is possibly the single biggest single site Emergency Department in Europe, with over 150,000 patients per year.
This is a fixed term year-long position, with a working pattern appropriate for a more experienced pre-consultant trainee. A Senior Fellow would work a 40 hour week, with 28-30 hours being clinical, and the balance spent in an appropriate area of specialist interest.
The appointee will work 7.5 programmed activities of direct clinical care. In addition, 2.5 programmed activity per week will be allowed for supporting professional activities i.e. audit, clinical governance, personal administration, Continuing Professional Development. Up to a further 2 temporary additional PAs can be negotiated depending on service needs.
The starting salary of the appointment will be the appropriate point on the Specialist Registrar pay scales ranging from £30,992 - £46,708.
Essential requirements:- Full Registration with the General Medical Council
- MCEM or equivalent
- Six months experience in Emergency Medicine in UK, or similar (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa)
- Able to deliver information in a supportive fashion and encourage learning, as evidenced by teaching in recent past.
