Job Description:HCL International has fantastic job opportunities for a Consultant Dermatologist to work in a large NHS Trust based in West Midlands.
This post is in general adult and paediatric dermatology. The post holder will be a core member of the skin oncology MDT and may be required to participate in the rapid access skin cancer clinic. There is a requirement to join the weekly on-call rota for ward referrals and urgent A&E/GP queries, which operates 0900-1700 Monday-Friday. There is no out of hours on-call commitment.
This new post will have secretarial and multidisciplinary team support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provision of a Dermatology Service for outpatients, day-cases, in-patients, ward referrals, and relevant surgical procedures.
- Education, training and supervision of medical students, junior medical staff.
- Administrative duties to ensure the proper functioning of the department.
- Provision of cover for colleagues' periods of leave.
- Participation in medical audit, clinical governance and continuing professional development relating to dermatology.
- Management and supervision of medical, nursing and other professional staff within the Dermatology multidisciplinary care team.
- Attendance at Directorate, District and Regional meetings, as required, to represent the interests of the speciality and the department.
- Participation in the Dermatology on-call rota and prospective cross cover with colleagues for such.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience- Relevant professional qualifications - MRCP or equivalent
- Relevant registration requirements - eligible for inclusion onto the specialist register of the GMC
- Relevant knowledge and experience requirements - documented UK experience of dermatology at SpR/Consultant level Up-to-date knowledge of clinical issues related to speciality - evidence of successful appraisal (if appropriate to grade), or CV evidence of courses attended
